September (I blinked and missed it!) and October ‘25
Hello friends,
I’ve finally managed to find a moment to sit down and think about this blog, and now realise that I completely missed September. It was a BIG month. I celebrated a birthday, painted lots and adopted a new rescue dog- Meet Barnaby. He was a very skinny little stray, but has now found a home with us, joining Sybil as co-shareholder in Charlotte Stone Art. Hopefully they’ll both hold me to account and won’t allow me to miss another blog..
Sybil and Barnaby judging me for drinking too much coffee.
One of my goals for September was to paint a local scene to then turn it into a Christmas card. I chose my home town of Cirencester, and I’m thrilled with the results. These festive cards, called ‘A Cotswold Christmas’ are now available on my website here, and can also be bought as a multipack show casing all of my Cotswold wintery scenes.

‘A Cotswold Winter’, ‘A Cotswold Christmas’ and ‘Winter’s Glow’ Greeting card trio.
At the start of October I made a start on a new acrylic piece, which I’m still yet to name. It showcases one of my favourite places, St Michaels Mount in Marazion, at dawn. Inspired by a walk, I’m debating whether to add a person and their dog (or two!) looking out towards the mount. I’ve sketched them in, but they may not stay (but probably will!).
At the moment I’m just slowly layering up the clouds and working on bringing the sunlight to peek out in between the moodiness. Working with acrylic paints means I have to work rapidly, as the paint dries quickly. I like this, as it helps me to not overthink anything too much.
My doggy Christmas cards have now been launched and have been doing well at my markets. There’s five new designs this year (Black lab, Whippet, Spaniel, Frenchie and Boston Terrier) and I’ll keep adding more- If there’s a breed that I don’t have yet, and you’d like to see it on a card, get in touch! All watercolour pet portraits booked will be offered the chance to have their portrait turned into cards if they would like- Exciting!
All Christmas cards are available here.
I have a number of new greeting card designs now available on my website, from thank you cards to coastal scenes, and of course one that nods towards my love for dogs..and flowers..
The whole range can be browsed here.
The original oil painting ‘Halcyon’ is now back from the framers and I hope you’ll agree that it looks amazing! It’s everything I’d hoped it would be, and what I had imagined in my head when I first put paintbrush to canvas, which is a rare thing! It’s now listed for sale on my website here. I have 2 blank canvases the same size as this big piece, and I now need to think what I’m going o try and capture on them next.
