August ‘25

It’s just started to rain as I write this and boy oh boy am I glad. The garden is a complete dried up crisp (though all my courgettes have turned into monster marrows and I’ve been measuring them up against Sybil with much glee).

Intense competition.

August has been a month of two halves- Really busy and also some nice downtime.

I’ve been designing some new Christmas cards (to be released next month) and have been working hard to expand my wholesale range. If you know of any shops you think my cards and prints would work well in, please do ping me an email and I’ll get in touch (and swing you a discount code as a thankyou). This month’s top shop has been an ice cream shop in Ireland, where my coastal cards have been flying off the shelves- Hooray!

Cards galore!! All printed on recycled paper, using beautifully vibrant vegetable based inks, with compostable sleeves :)

Why not stock up on some here?

I spent a week in Norfolk by the sea, visiting family and taking hundreds of photos to inspire my next work. The photo below, taken at dusk on my favourite beach at Winterton on Sea calls out to me, and will definitely be captured in paint soon!

‘Messing about on the river’ Original Painting.

I’m excited to announce that the original mixed media painting ‘Messing about on the river’ sold at an exhibition earlier in the year. This weekend I drove to London to hand deliver it. It’s a real buzz to be able to see my art work hanging on someone else’s walls in person.

Signed prints continue to be available of this piece here.

Originals ‘Halcyon’ and ‘Gorselight at Godrevy’ have been dropped off at my framers, and are currently in the process of getting finished.

Framing is such an essential part of the final process for my paintings- A well chosen frame provides a boundary that enhances the visual impact of the artwork, guiding the viewers eye toward the subject, whilst completing the style colours and mood. For Halcyon, a thin ‘off white’ floating frame, with a small gap between the frame and the painting itself, adds more depth to the painting, but doesn't take away from the painting’s intensity. ‘Gorselight’ has a thicker, more traditional ‘off white’ wooden frame, which seems to ‘hold’ it all together nicely.

Very excitingly, ‘Gorselight’ has already found its new home, having sold at the start of this month, and once framing is complete, will be travelling up to Scotland. Prints will be available of this gorgeous piece soon.

‘Cornish Glow’ Giclee print

Talking of prints, I have 2 beautiful limited edition giclee prints available of the original painting ‘Cornish Glow’ in 2 different sizes. They are hand signed by me and would look amazing on any wall. Take a look here.
