Hello friends,

Another month down! And wow, what a month it’s been!

Four of my originals have come back from the framers and I’m SO pleased with how they’ve turned out! The right frame really does make or break a painting, and I never really know what the end result will be until I get them back but, as always, my framer has outdone himself. These paintings are now all looking for new homes and are listed on my website under my ‘Originals’ section here.

I’m excited to be able to show you my latest seascape commission, which I painted last month, now that it’s been passed over to its lucky new owner. It was commissioned as a 60th birthday present, and I used a variety of reference photos to create this scene. I love the movement in the sand and the atmospheric sky. The rainbow really was in the reference photo - A magical moment captured in oils, to hopefully be enjoyed forever :)

I love taking commissions for landscapes and seascapes. Being given the opportunity to transform a photo of someone’s special moment into a painting for really is a privilege. If you’d like to know more about the process, get in touch here :)

My original watercolour painting ‘A bright new day’ found its new home at my last market at the Cornwall in Cirencester. It caught the eye of a lady who had just moved to the area, and felt like it was the perfect first piece of artwork for her new home. As always, when an original sells, I have a pinch me moment that this is my life and that people love my work enough to want it in their own homes. I don’t think i’ll ever get used to that feeling. It’s wonderful :)

I have a very exciting opportunity to exhibit some of my artwork next month, alongside the fabulous Cirencester Art Society. We will be exhibiting from Saturday 15th August until Monday 31st August 2026 in the Cirencester Parish Church in the market place. It’s a gorgeous venue to display artwork- If you are in the area, do drop in. It’s completely free and the array of artwork the Society showcases is always fabulous.

Last week I took part in hosting a very exciting event held at the Cirencester Distilling Company. The very first ‘Paint and Sip’ session, hosted by myself and fellow artist Liney Hill. Liney led a brilliant session teaching people how to paint Cirencester market place, whilst I assisted the artists with their creations. Cocktails flowed, artwork was painted and everyone walked away with something pretty for their walls. This event was such a success that we plan on running a regular one. The latest work on my easel is this oil painting of Fistral beach in Newquay. I did a watercolour study of this viewpoint at the start of the year and it’s been stuck in my head ever since. I love the tiny headland hotel perched on the cliffs in the distance, and the light in the clouds shining onto the wet sand. I still have lots to do..more rocks, more shadowing to add depth, but I really like it at the moment. It’s a large canvas, so has taken me longer than planned, but it’s a process I’m enjoying tinkering away at in between other commissions.

Markets

I’ll be at the Cornhall Craft market this coming weekend ( Saturday 1st August 2026) from 9.30am until 4.30pm. I’ll be bringing a range of prints, framed prints, originals and cards.
