April ‘25
This month has been mad (in a good way) and this blog has taken a back seat whilst I’ve been working at art markets and setting up my exhibition. I’m so excited to be able to announce that my exhibition ‘Coast and Countryside’, alongside my aunt and fellow artist Julia Fry, is now up on the walls and ready to go.
Our official launch is this coming Saturday between 11am and 1pm, and you are all very welcome to join us.
The exhibition then runs for a full month, so do pop by and have a look if you can’t make the launch. It’s a riot of colour and a celebration of the beauty that we have here with the coastlines and countryside of the UK.
I was very excited when my brand new watercolour painting ‘Perranporth’ sold before it even made it to the exhibition. It will still be hanging in the exhibition for you all to see. It’s the first of a new series I am going to paint that include people, dogs and horses on the beach. Watch this space!

Work in progress- ‘Sunlight on the sea’ - oil on canvas
I haven’t had much time to paint this month, but in between the busy moments I have been slowly working on a very large oil painting called ‘Sunlight on the Sea’. I’m excited to see how it turns out, and will certainly be my focus in May. One of the wonderful things about oil paints is that the colours I’ve mixed for this piece will stay workable and wet for a good couple of weeks. I’ll just have to peel away the top layer, and then TA-DA- I can continue using the same blob of paint from weeks before!
I have no markets now until the end of next month, as my focus will be on the exhibition, but i’ll next be in the Cornhall in person on Sunday 25th May, Monday 26th May and then Saturday 7th June and would love to see some familiar faces there :)
Have a wonderful rest of the week!
